My Speech

 Hey 

Over the last few weeks at school we have been making a speech about poverty here it is - 

836 million people still live in extreme poverty.

836 million people. Extreme poverty rates have been cut by more than half since 1990. Every day in 2014, 42,000 people had to abandon their homes to find protection due to conflict. They are also people who make more than $1.25 a day and there are people who make less than this. Can you imagine not being able to eat or get enough money for your family's? 

Unsurprisingly, people are being hurt because they are living on the streets, they are dying because they are hungry and they are freezing because they have no warmth. The harm is, it's destroying people's lives making them sad and lonely and it's going to keep getting worse if we don’t help.  

I know. Changing what we do every day just to make room for people that could have gotten themselves into this position in the first place doesn't seem fair. But if we don't, that number, 836 

million, will continue to grow until only the rich will be left. Think about it. The rich, they are the people that can afford things that the poor can only dream of, pillows, matrel objects, even a roof over their heads. Those things most people you know have, right? The challenges are the things that are making us not able to help these people get what they need to survive this world. People started to realize that they can not help them because the problem was too big. I mean how were they going to get 836 million people off the streets and out of poverty with food and water and a roof over their heads? How are going to be the people who step up and take the challenge?

This problem is a shocking, scary, overwhelming crime that people are letting happen… Living on streets with no shelter, no access to food and water because they are being restricted. Their well being and mental well being, physical and health are low because they have no money to afford it. Education and employment is hard because they can’t have a shower and make them look nice. Why things aren't or haven't been changed. I feel like the reason behind this is because people think that the people in poverty got themselves into this so they should get themselves out but that is not always the case. Some people had a roof over their head and food and water but they just ended up like this sometimes it's not their choice.

Imagine a world with all people going to bed with a roof over their heads.

Imagine a city with no one starving themselves.

Imagine a street where everyone can ford to go to school and have good health.

Are we really going to let this happen? No! Think about those families out there, now Imagine them being your family what would you do?  I know, why we should share our home, family, food & money when we need to feed and give to our own families. But this problem is big, bigger than big if we don't start helping what is the world going to look like in 10 years? We need to aim for life-saving, world changing salutations to make the world a better place. 

Aims - We want your help to make the world a poverty free place to live in. What actions can we take to solve this together? Don’t you think the solution is for everyone to come together and do their part to stop this problem. We need to aim for everyone to have the basic needs covered that is food, water, shelter and clothing. Let our community be a poverty free place.

Act Together - We may not be able to make our world a poverty free place but we have the power of our voice and actions. This is our world and we choose our future. We can make different by starting here in our community. We can donate food and water, warm clothes and we can also teach them life skills.

I think that this is a good sentence that everyone can learn from. That is you can give someone something or you can teach them a life skill on how to make or use.

With week for writing my goal was a level 3 goal and the goal was use reference sources to check meanings and find new words. And so what we had to do was get our biographies and get one sentence and edited it and make it look and sound better. I used a dictionary to help me understand some words and I went though and looked to see what words were missing and what made it sound better. Here it is⬇

Bishop Paul was born in hasting in 1967.  He has 4 siblings and he is currently 53 years old. He attended school at St Joseph’s in Hastings and he then went to St John's College. In 1985 he attended formation for the society of Mary (The Society of Mary is a group of people that get together at St bede's college to learn about god). In 1991 he went to Northern Territory, Australia to spend some time at the Aboriginal Community. Then in 1993 he went to Rome to study to be a teacher and when he came back to New Zealand he was looking for teaching including St bedes.

How to wash your hands!

Hello!
Today I am going to telling how to wash your hands!
This week for writing I had to make a slide show on how to tie your shoelace or how to wash your hand and I thought that I should do how to wash your hands. So I made a slide show with what you need and how to wash your hands so you don't get sick. Our goal in the writing work shop was Use a variety of sentence structures, beginnings and lengths to give effect. Hi today I am going to be talking to you about summer learning journey. My Poem

Hi today I am going to be talking to you about my poem that I have been writing. So this week from writing the teachers told us that we had to write a poem about anything so I  decided that I would to it about me. The poem had to be a certain type of poem and the option they where Haiku, limerick, Using Comparisons in Poetry and Cinquain and I did the Haiku.

Information Report

Hello, How are you? Today I will be talking to you about my information report. So over the last few weeks my hub has been writing information report and it had to be about a country. The teachers said that we where not allowed to pick a country we are from so decided that I would do Brazil because there is a lot of interesting things about Brazil.
So if you would like to read my report here it is.

Brazil Information Report

Introduction: 

Brazil is located in South America and there are there is 214,599,613 million people As of 1 January
2019. In Brazil they speak Portuguese and they also speak English but not that much. The flag in Brazil
has white, blue, yellow and green. It also has 27 stars on the big blue circle. Then it has a sideways
diamond that is yellow and then it has green on the outside of it. In Brazil the temprecher can get up to
around 20 degrees. The capital in Brazil is Rio De Janeiro and Brasilia.

Paragraph 2:

The carnival in Rio de janeiro is a very big event in Brazil because is only happens every year
around lent. It is special because people dress up in really cool and fun dresses and people have big
vehicles that look really fun and they sing and dance. Brazil has been around for 8000 years and
has been growing for a long time now.  Jair Bolsonaro is Brazil's president and he has been president
for 11 mouth’s and he also served in the army for 17 years and left the army in 1988.

Paragraph 3: 

They is 123 million Catholics in Brazil which means that half of Brazil is catholic.
Brazil is also one has one of the most catholic people in the world and that there is ⅔ of people in Brazil.
The political parties in Brazil are workers party, Brazilian demographic movement party, social laeral
party, democrats party. The president in Brazil is called Jair Bolsonaro and he has been helping the
country get better for a few months now.

Paragraph 4:

In Brazil there are a lot of different types of jobs you could do like-  Banking, Hospital, Engineer,
Bilder and more. Work in Brazil starts a 8:00 am and ends at 6:00 pm. At school in Brazil they start school at the age of six in elementary and finish at the age of 14 then you would
start high school at the age of 15 to 17 and then you can go to university if you want and in elementary
school and high school they would namely have at least 6 classes in a day . At school they would
normally start school at 7:15 am and then it would end at 1:00 pm. The children have 200 days
at school a year and have they holiday in December and January.

Paragraph 5:

In Brazil they love they have lots of types of food like: Barbecued meat, Prawn stew,
Caipirinhas with pineapple, Brazilian chocolate truffles - brigadeiro, Brazilian cheese bread -
pão de queijo, Brazilian pork stew with corn dumpling. In Brazil there are many different sites to see
but one of the most popular attractions are Cristo Redentor ( Rio de, Janeiro), Carnival
( Rio de Janeiro),  Iguaçu Falls, Copacabana (Rio de Janeiro), Amazon rain forest, Sugar Loaf,
Rio de Janeiro and more. There are also a lot so things to do like dip dip, Pipa beach. 

Paragraph 6:

Fun games they play are football, Martial arts, foot volley, Tennis, basketball, Motorsports,
volleyball, rugby and way more. In Brazil the carnival has many types of dances like samba, jango,
carioca funk, bumba meu boi. These dances they also get to dress up in crazy outfits and so does the
crowd. They use a lot of different types of things in there dance like ribben, people, music and more. 

Conclusion

In conclusion Brazil is one of the biggest countries in the world that has at has 214,599,613 million.
It will still be growing in size every day and there are more people come through to the country to see
all the cool attractions and fun things to do like going to the carnival in Rio or going to pipa beach and
stay there for the day or you could also go to a nice restaurant and get some nice food like Barbecued
meat, Prawn stew, Caipirinhas with pineapple, Brazilian chocolate truffles - brigadeiro, Brazilian cheese
bread - pão de queijo, Brazilian pork stew with corn dumplings.
